1/144 HG Gundam Age-FX Review
What's Included:
7X Runners (If you count polycaps)
1X Medium Sticker Sheet
1X Manual
The overall most overpowering mobile suit and Gundam in the Age series.
Details
The detail put into this model is superb. It is the most dramatic change in design in the Age series. The only one that looks unique and has it's own statement and identity. Like it or not the other mobile suit designs were similar to another mobile suit from a different series whether it be small or big of a similarity. This one looks like the Quan[T] somewhat but it is still unique and I very much like its detail. It did require a lot of stickers and I am not at a level yet where I can apply them good enough so when I applied my stickers I damaged some here and there. That does not halt this models beauty however.
Proportion
The proportion is good in a way but the only problem I see is the waist and head. The waist is too inverted it looks awkward when you focus there. However the head may look nice but it is dramatically the opposite. It is quite small and it doesn't give credit to the amazing design put into the face.
Articulation
The arm doesn't completely have a 180 bend but if you modify the arm slightly then you could get a perfect 180 degree angle. I personally see no problem. The legs also have 180 articulation however you need to move it slightly outside then bend it up enough to touch its back because the side skirt gets in the way otherwise.
Weapons
This model is very well equipped. It comes with a rifle which has add-on parts to make it a bazooka. If that isn't enough it comes in funnels as well along with a display piece to do some epic posing. Great weapon options overall the only problem is if you equip the c funnels onto the model some fall of and get loose so be careful.
Accessories
This is a special model. It not only comes in a stand but a display stand in the back for the funnels. Which is awesome. It also comes in 2 closed fists, 2 open fists, and one open hand for the left. If you have Age-3's and other models you might be able to swap hands and have more options. I haven't done it yet but I might. The stand is somewhat annoying though. You need to place it in an appropriate surface otherwise the FX is gonna fall on its face because the stand cant stay up. (Yeah I know wtf right)
Comparison
The Age system in the anime was based on an evolution system. It collected battle data and evolved the Gundams accordingly up to the final design of the FX. So it is understandable that the FX has similarities between the Age-3's. The Age-3's were before the FX. Personally I think the FX took the best looks and gimmicks from all of the Age Gundams and made an epic uber Gundam that can be a killing machine.
